The Lucipath extension lets you save the job posting you're viewing, or see how well you fit it, in your Lucipath account. This page explains exactly what it reads and what it sends.
What the extension reads
- The job on the current tab, only when you ask. When you click the
Lucipath icon or press its save shortcut on a page, it reads that page's job details:
any structured job data the page publishes, the visible job text (or the text you've
selected), the page title and the page address. It uses Chrome's
activeTabpermission, which covers only that tab, only after your click or key press. It never reads pages you haven't used it on and does not track your browsing. - Text you select and right-click. If you choose Lucipath, then Save as a job or Check my fit, it uses the selected text, the page title and the page address.
- Your connection to Lucipath. Connecting from your Lucipath account (or pasting an access token) gives the extension a token that signs it in as you. The token is stored only in your browser.
What it sends, and to whom
Everything goes only to Lucipath (https://lucipath.com), over
HTTPS, signed with your token:
- When the popup opens: a one way fingerprint of the page address, never the address itself, to check whether you've already saved or analyzed this job, so the popup can show it. The address of a page you only glance at stays in your browser.
- When you choose Save job or Run gap analysis (in the popup, with the shortcut or from the right-click menu): the job details it read, so Lucipath can create the job and save it or analyze it, the same as doing it in the web app. The work finishes even if you close the popup.
Nothing is sent to any third party. The extension contains no analytics, ads or trackers.
Notifications
When a gap analysis finishes while the popup is closed, the extension shows a notification with the match score, and it confirms saves made with the shortcut or the right-click menu. Notifications are created on your device; nothing extra is sent anywhere.
What it does not do
No reading of pages you haven't used it on, no browsing history, no selling or sharing of data, and nothing collected beyond what the popup and your chosen action need.
Your control
- It only reads a page when you click the icon, press the save shortcut or use the right-click menu, and only saves or analyzes when you choose to.
- Disconnect any time in the extension's Settings. That removes the token from your browser and revokes it on the server. You can also revoke it in Lucipath under Account, Browser extension.
- Removing the extension deletes the stored token and settings.
What Lucipath keeps
Jobs you save and analyses you run are stored in your Lucipath account, the same as when you use the web app. You can remove any of them, or delete your whole account, at any time from the app.
