Recruiter resume example & template

A corporate recruiter resume that moved from agency staffing to an in-house desk. It reports the metrics talent acquisition leaders actually track: open reqs carried, hires closed, time to fill and offer acceptance.

  • Req load and annual hires come first, so the reader knows the size of the desk.
  • Time to fill is broken out by role family with the change that shortened it.
  • Agency experience is framed in placements and ranking, the way staffing firms measure it.

How to write a recruiter resume

What hiring teams in this field actually screen for, and the terms that get matched.

What recruiting leaders screen for

A talent acquisition manager reads a recruiter resume for load and output. Say how many open reqs you carry, which role families, and how many hires you closed in a year. Then show the quality of the process: time to fill against a baseline, offer acceptance rate, submittal to interview ratios and share of hires you sourced directly. Hiring managers care about fewer wasted interviews, so any evidence that your submittals got hired says more than candidate counts.

Tools and terms that get matched

Postings name the ATS, so list yours exactly: Greenhouse, Lever, iCIMS, Workday Recruiting, SmartRecruiters or Bullhorn on the agency side. Add sourcing tools such as LinkedIn Recruiter, Gem, SeekOut or hireEZ. Use the working vocabulary of the job: full-cycle, intake meeting, req, pipeline, Boolean search, structured interview, scorecard, offer acceptance rate, time to fill, time to hire. Name the role families you hire for, since a technical recruiter and a high-volume hourly recruiter are screened differently.

Common mistakes on recruiter resumes

Recruiters often describe the process (screened, scheduled, coordinated) and leave out the results, which is odd for a job built on metrics. Another common gap is not separating agency from in-house work; agency hires are placements and revenue, in-house hires are reqs and time to fill, and readers want to see you know the difference. Leave out candidate names, client names under NDA and vague claims about "building relationships."

Recruiter resume FAQ

Quick answers before you start writing.

What should a recruiter resume include?

A strong recruiter resume opens with a concise professional summary, then work experience written as quantified, results-first bullets, followed by education, a skills section, and any certifications. The example above shows each section in order.

What skills should a recruiter resume highlight?

Lead with the skills the job posting asks for. For a recruiter, recruiters and ATS filters commonly look for Full-cycle recruiting, Boolean sourcing, Intake meetings, Structured interviewing, Offer negotiation, and Pipeline reporting. Group them so they are easy to scan.

Is this recruiter resume template ATS-friendly?

Yes. It uses a single-column structure, standard section headings, real text (no text trapped in images), and no tables or graphics that confuse applicant-tracking systems, so it parses cleanly while still looking polished.

How long should a recruiter resume be?

One page is ideal for most recruiters. Use two pages only if you have ten or more years of directly relevant experience, then tune the text size and margins so it stays clean.
